Varsity Volleyball Places Second in McLouth Tournament

The varsity volleyball team traveled to the McLouth tournament ready to assert their dominance upon any team they faced. Coming into the tournament with a 3-0 record, they all looked to remain undefeated. This tournament included a three-game pool play followed by a single elimination tournament.

The volleyball team went 2-1 in pre-bracket games falling to Perry-Lecompton (23-25; 15-25), destroying Atchison County Community High School (25-8; 25-17) and conquering Olathe Heritage Christian Academy (25-21; 25-21).

Heading into tournament games, the girls were ready to do whatever it took to be the top dogs. For the first round, the team cruised by Veritas Christian School winning in two sets (25-14; 25-14). The semi-final round required extreme focus and effort as they faced the host of the tournament, McLouth High School. Even with McLouth’s large fan base present at the game, Seabury was triumphant after a hard-fought three sets of intense action (29-27; 18-25; 15-3). For the championship round, the girls had to go head-to-head with Perry-Lecompton High School once again. The team fought with blood, sweat and tears, yet they fell valiantly to their opponent in two sets (14-25; 21-25).

Although slightly disappointed in coming up short of the top spot, the varsity volleyball team kept their heads up as they look forward to their next games at Burlingame High School this Tuesday. The team improved to a 7-2 record.
