Varsity Soccer Crushes Bonner Springs in Incredible Shutout

The boys varsity soccer team continued their winning streak on Wednesday with an overwhelming victory against Bonner Springs. The final score was 7-0, an enormous improvement from the last time the Seahawks faced the 5A school last year resulting in a final score of 1-5. This was the third straight shutout for goalkeeper senior Chris Green. Junior Freddy Comparato scored the first goal early in the game. Soon after sophomores Evan McHenry and Harrison Hartzler added to the Seahawks’ quickly mounting score. In the beginning of the second half Bonner Springs out-possessed Seabury, but soon senior Lee Nelson responded with his first goal of the season. Closely following Nelson’s goal, sophomore Peter Westbrook played a through-ball to McHenry resulting in the fifth goal of the game. Hartzler scored his second goal of the game with an assist from Comparato. A corner kick from Comparato was headed in by junior Sam Bayliss to end the game. Although Seabury’s offense prevailed, the team’s defense proved to be incredible at holding off the Bonner Springs’ offense.
