Review: HiTea

By looking at HiTea’s social media, one can immediately understand the aura they try to create. From their bright pink walls and incredible natural lighting to stuffed animals and various trinkets and toys that line the walls, HiTea is a place that emanates positivity and adorable vibes. Even their drinks match their theme of bright colors. When I received my lemon flower tea, I did not want to drink it because I did not want to ruin how pretty it was. However, once I gained the courage to actually consume it, the flavor was very sweet, but good. The strawberry and blueberry smoothie shared these characteristics; the consistency was perfect and it had actual fruit. The red jade black milk tea was the best I have tried, having the perfect quantity of tapioca.

The drinks came out very efficiently (in about six minutes) and are priced very well. Additionally, the service was good. The restaurant was also clean. However, it felt rather claustrophobic after a little while, due to the wall dividing the halves of the space and how tiny it is. In a situation where many people were in the restaurant at once, it could easily feel crowded fast. However, this did not seem to be a problem, as there was only one other person there and business seemed rather slow. This may be due to the fact that they are relatively new, but it was still shocking as I expected their adorable interior design and quality drinks and service to draw in more people. It seems that the vivid colors and sweet flavors have not attracted as many people as they clearly deserve.
