Ondori
Finally, there is a noodle place that offers great Asian noodle dishes from Ramen to Hawaiian street food. Ondori Noodle is a new noodle restaurant downtown that could be a huge competitor for the ever popular Ramen Bowls. The interior of the restaurant gives a modern and cozy feel, and there is even a wall that is decorated with sriracha bottles. Instead of ordering when you sit down, as soon as you enter the building, you are greeted with menus and order at the front. When you sit down, the servers are very nice, polite and pretty quick.
When I went, I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen and the Korean chicken wings. The food
came out fast and hot. The Korean chicken wings were excellent in a sweet and spicy sauce, but the ramen was the star of the meal. The Tan Tan Ramen was a pork broth infused with hot oil with pork and other vegetables for toppings. The noodles were delicious and a perfect combatant for the cold weather.
While Ondori and other noodle places like Ramen Bowls are similar, Ondori has more than just ramen. They also specialize in pho and a Hawaiian street noodle dish called mala tang. The variety and food from different cultures really sets Ondori apart from other restaurants. The quality of the ramen and the authenticity of the dishes also is a new aspect to noodle places downtown.
If you are looking for a new place to eat or are just sick of the same Asian noodle options, Ondori is a great new place to try. From the welcoming interior to the nice service to the delicious food, Ondori definitely takes the noodle crown of Lawrence for me over the popular ramen bowls.
